2026 Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Community Survey

Dear Virginia Beach Resident:
Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is conducting a Community Attitude and Interest Survey to establish priorities for indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities for our residents. We are requesting your participation in this important survey.

Currently, Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation manages 293 city park sites, more than 7,000 acres of parks and natural areas, 7 community recreation centers, a municipal marina, and an athletic complex. Parks & Recreation offers year-round recreational opportunities that include aquatic, fitness, cultural and outdoor programs, therapeutic recreation programs, inclusion services, community events, as well as adult and youth sports leagues. Parks & Recreation also is the largest childcare provider in the city, operating before and after school programs, early childhood programs, and day camps when school is out of session. Parks & Recreation also provides landscape management and maintenance for municipal buildings, public schools, park sites, and designated roadways.

This statistically valid survey is being conducted by ETC Institute, a leader in local government research. This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please consider each question carefully. The time you invest in completing this survey will help the City of Virginia Beach in taking a citizen-driven approach to making decisions that will enrich the future of our community and positively affect the lives of our residents. ETC Institute will compile the information and present the results to the City. Your responses will remain confidential.

If you have any questions, please contact Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation's Strategic Initiatives Unit at (757) 385-1100 or email us fun@vbgov.com. We look forward to reviewing your thoughtful feedback.

Please take this opportunity to let your voice be heard!
